WA Tree Festival 2024

The WA Tree Festival runs from 6 April to the 5th May and provides a platform for local councils and community groups to come together to showcase the crucial importance of trees within Perth.

Since the formation of the Town's Climate Emergency Strategy in 2022, The Town has committed to increasing the Towns canopy cover to 30% by 2030. In line with this commitment, the Town has again partnered with the WA Tree Festival for the second consecutive year.

Given East Fremantle's considerable urban landscape, green spaces are important for the local community and native biodiversity. East Fremantle currently has a canopy cover of 16%, a green cover of 20.5%, including shrubs under 3 meters and tree over 3 meters.
