Town of East Fremantle Heritage Trail
The East Fremantle Heritage Trail is a 3km walk featuring buildings of historical and architectural interest and was first developed by the Town as part of the 1988 WA Heritage Trail Network, an initiative of the Australian Bicentennial Commemorative Program.
The revitalisation of the Heritage Trail features the original 19 local buildings and now offers our community three exciting new elements to encourage local and visitor engagement in our rich heritage:
- Heritage Trail Map depicting the outstanding architecture that formed the original Trail. The printed version features hand-drawn water-colour images:
- INTERACTIVE WEBSITE - the Town of East Fremantle has collaborated with the Museum of Perth to share the wealth of known information about the many local heritage buildings AND to gather community anecdotes and images. More links to the 'Streets of East Freo' are below.
The Town of East Fremantle has a strong heritage foundation and a sense of identity and belonging in a safe and close-knit community. Through the retention of the many historical homes and streetscapes in the Town residents enjoy the same standard of amenity of their forebears.
