Cloth Nappy Rebate
A staggering 3.75 million disposable nappies are used each day in Australia and New Zealand.
Conventional disposable nappies are estimated to take between 150 and 500 years to break down. A child will typically use around 5,000 disposable nappies by the time they are toilet trained costing over $3,000. In comparison, cloth nappies will cost around one-quarter of the price.
To celebrate and thank residents for making the swap to cloth nappies, the Town is now offering a rebate of 50%, up to $100 per household on the hire or purchase of modern cloth nappies to eligible East Fremantle residents.
Eligibility
To be eligible, East Fremantle residents must:
- Have not applied for the rebate previously.
- Attend a Nappy Guru workshop hosted by the Town of East Fremantle, City of Fremantle, or the City of Melville, within six months of application. Proof of residency will be required at workshop.
- Purchase modern cloth nappies through an Australian supplier (with an ABN) or hire cloth nappies through the Nappy Guru, within three months of application. Retain a copy of tax invoice.
- Apply for a rebate through the Town of East Fremantle.
