What does it mean to deliver a sustainable street party?
The festival is a "sustainable street party" in line with the Town's Sustainable Event Policy. As such, the Town encourages event-goers to bring their own water bottles and use the refill water stations for water or use the cups from Go2Cup. The Town has also partnered with Go2Cup and encourages vendors and food businesses to use no single-use plastic cups, bowls, plates, coffee cups etc and use reusable alternatives provided by GO2Cup.
The Town Tent also offers free reusable calico event bags provided free by the Town for shoppers.
Parking
Are there road closures in place?
Road closures will be in place from 6am to 9pm on Sunday 1 December between East Street and Duke Street.
Can George Street residents access George Street?
Residents and visitors are asked to please ensure that all vehicles are removed from George Street, side streets and from private driveways by 6am Sunday. Should you anticipate you will require your vehicle on the Sunday, it is recommended to park on an adjoining street outside of the event site prior to 6am Sunday morning. Please be aware that unauthorised vehicles remaining on George Street within the event site after 6am may need to be towed if directly impacting on the event. To find out more visit our Road Closure letter.
Why is there temporary fencing and 'No Parking' signage placed on George Street?
From 1pm on Saturday 30 November, temporary fencing and 'No Parking' signage will be placed along George Street and side streets. This signage is an indication of the event site which is to be clear of parked cars for 6am Sunday morning. To find out more visit our Road Closure letter.
How can I get to the festival?
To help reduce parking congestion, consider using sustainable travel options to make your trip smoother, including:
- On foot: Locals can enjoy a scenic walk to the festival.
- By bike: Bike parking is available at designated spots on the corners of East, Glyde, Hubble, and Duke Street.
- By bus: Take a connecting route to Marmion Street or Canning Highway, then enjoy a short walk to George Street.
- By train: Take the Fremantle line to Fremantle or North Fremantle Station and catch a connecting bus to Canning Highway or Marmion Street.
Is there free parking at the festival?
We encourage festival-goers to plan ahead before coming to the festival. As there are road closures in place, parking is scarce around the festival site. You may be able to get parking along the side streets but time restrictions do apply.
Is there ACROD Parking around the festival?
If you require ACROD parking, please drive up to one of the traffic barriers in the road closure area and present your ACROD parking permit to the traffic controller to find out about the nearest ACROD parking location.
